AURANGABAD: Two unidentified women were booked by the Satara police for stealing sarees worth thousands of rupees from a shop in the area. The women stole the designer sarees after gaining entry in to the shop by pretending to be high profile customers, who are interested in making big purchases.
The proprietor’s police complaint said that the women customers entered her shop and requested to show some sarees, which they wanted to wear for an engagement ceremony.
One of the two women, kept the proprietor busy while the other stole about eight designer sarees. After the duo was successful in their theft, they left the premises citing some urgent personal work. It was only after they left that the proprietor found the sarees had gone missing.
She rushed outside to look for the suspects but by then the duo had made their escape good. The Proprietor approached the police and lodged a complaint.
